This residency at Le Cube independent art room is an opportunity for Marion Mounic to extend her comprehension and embracing of the Moroccan culture. In Rabat, the artist wishes to capture the different aspects that constitute it, through her daily practices and common places where culture and tradition are intertwined.
Through future encounters and new experiences, starting from an accessible daily life, Marion Mounic endeavors to take, move and transform these different daily usages that she considers as spaces of invention, adaptation and resistance, both on a perceptual level, and a socio-political one.
This desire for experience is to be seen as the emergence of new possibilities enabling plausible interpenetrations, the creation of a new language and memory, or maybe even a fabricated one.
Marion Mounic shares this residency time with artist Hanane El Farissi, who will extend her research and develop new projects during her stay in Rabat.
