Hallima Imane Zoubai
Hallima Imane Zoubai is a multidisciplinary artist born and based in Fez, Morocco, whose work explores the intersection of music and landscapes, as well as cultural transmission. A graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan in 2020, she approaches her practice through geo-museology, investigating how landscapes can be preserved in cultural knowledge beyond materiality.
Her work spans drawing, sound recording, performance, and installation, using materials such as soil, leather, and wool. Her musical background informs her creations, which she develops through natural and poetic materials, highlighting the multiple creative possibilities offered by emotion and rhythm.
She presented her performance Is our bread ready yet? at documenta15 in Kassel, Germany (2022), as part of the public program organized by Awal and Le18.
In 2023, she participated in the Mediterranean Residency, developing the project Le cabaret pas de chance at La Friche Belle de Mai with Fraeme, exploring the musical territories of migrant communities in Marseille.
Recently, she developed her drawing project Moussem of Forms at HIAP in Finland (2025) and was awarded the Stiftung Künstlerdorf grant to further develop her performance practice in Schöppingen, Germany (2025).
In 2026, she will participate in the Mediterranean Season, taking part in group exhibitions programmed at La Condition Publique in Roubaix and Lille3000.
