Villa du Parc
La Villa du Parc in Annemasse (France) is a contemporary art center dedicated to the visual arts.
It accompanies and exhibits contemporary artists engaged in a professional art practice and in connection with society and its current political and aesthetic issues.
As a production and creation tool for artists, it is also a place for welcoming and accompanying the public. It develops a program of mediation and sensitization to art designed to measure and according to the public, starting from the exchange and the common reflection on the art work.
The program of La Villa du Parc is based on the diversity of practices, in the image of the contemporary artistic field (painting, drawing, photography, video, writing etc.). Each year, a seasonal theme is tackled, whether aesthetic, societal or geographical, allowing us to approach a notion or a field of activity from several points of view and temporalities.
Three major annual exhibitions, enriched by actions within and outside the walls in various formats (editions, events) as well as residencies initiated in the social field (companies, hospitals, etc.) contribute to the overall project of artistic experimentation of the contemporary art center.
La Villa du Parc is involved in territorial and transdisciplinary work. It regularly collaborates with cultural institutions in Annemasse, across the border and in Geneva. Specific co-production projects are carried out at national and international levels.
