As part of the Festival Salam Orient, Abdessamad El Montassir presents his award-winning film Galb’Echaouf, co-produced by Le Cube – independent art room, for a first time in Vienna, at the Brunnenpassage.

Confronted with a silent environment and people haunted by socio-political history, the artist turns his attention to landscape and plants in order to find elements that could respond and help reconstruct this amnesia.

The Salam Orient festival takes place every year in different places in Vienna. Through music, dance, literature, expert lectures, visual arts, theater and film, the festival transmits and highlights the art and culture of Arab countries, Islamic cultures and religious minorities in these regions.
The aim of the festival is to create a framework for understanding between peoples and for dialogue as well as to provide a space for intercultural encounters.
