Through film and multimedia installation, Yasmine Benabdallah explores questions of memory, performance, diaspora, archives, rituals and time travel. Lineage and storytellers are at the heart of her art, our bodies and voices guardians of history.
During this video night, Yasmine Benabdallah, in residence at Le Cube – independent art room as part of the summers lab, will talk about her approach and her projects.
In addition to the existing projects, she will also present the project in progress “Chebba”, a hybrid film on the ritual of purification of the evil eye, as practiced by four generations of women from the same Moroccan family.
The evening will continue with an exchange between the artist and the audience.
