His artistic research and work takes form in installations, sculptures and photographs and it is mostly inspired by the everyday life in the current society.
Loutfi Souidi’s work aims to express both personal reflections and opinions about sociological and political themes. Also, the artwork that he produces highlights questions about human relationships with different elements of the everyday life.
His recent art project is based on the use of everyday life objects that he collects from streets, or buys from second hand markets. So as to intervene on these objects with different techniques like appropriation, assembly and accumulation.
Loutfi Souidi’s research and reflection takes place in popular districts, the alleys of the ancient Medina, the souks and all the other places where he can attend interactions between humans and the objects encountering them. All this, in search for raw material for his work before starting the production. The initial choice of his objects is based on their symbolism, subject / object duality, identity and function.
