Nuno Ramalho
Nuno Ramalho is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, video art, and new media. He graduated in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP) in 1999, earned an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2008, and completed a PhD in Art at FBAUP in 2020, after beginning his studies at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Since 1999, his work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across Portugal, Brazil, Spain, the U.S., Norway, the U.K., Russia, and Germany.
His work is part of several prominent public and private collections, including the Centro de Artes Visuais (CAV), Novo Banco, and the Serralves Foundation.
Over the years, Ramalho has participated in several artist-in-residence programs such as Triangle France and was nominated for the EDP New Artists Award in 2004.
His artistic achievements have been recognized with prestigious grants and fellowships, including a Fulbright Fellowship and a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation.
Alongside his artistic practice, Ramalho has organized several exhibitions as a curator. In 2016, he launched Playlist, a monthly series dedicated to showcasing Portuguese video art.
