Stella Reinhold-Rudas
Stella Reinhold-Rudas is a curator, art advisor and artistic director based in Vienna, working on various artistic projects between Vienna and Marrakech since 2022.
In 2020 she co-founded Leerstand Gallery, an ongoing curatorial project in empty buildings. “Opfer ihrer Zeit” (2020), “Bleibt alles anders. Strategies for Reality” (2021) and “OPAK – About Transparency” (2021) were among the exhibitions. During this period, her exhibitions focused on socio-political issues in the wake of the pandemic.
During the years 2022/23 she led the activities of the Friends of the Secession. Among other things, she traveled with them to Documenta 15 in Kassel and was responsible for a diverse curatorial program.
In 2023, she co-curated the exhibition “L’Art que J’aime – in memoriam Gabi Senn” at the former Galerie Senn. She also launched her series of “Studio Events”, where she and a chef created an evening in an artist’s studio based on a selected series of works.
She is the author of several articles for the art magazine Parnass, the daily newspaper Kurier and various art publications.
Stella Reinhold-Rudas has been working together with the Vienna based artist couple Hanakam & Schuller for many years now.
Her fascination with gardens as places where nature and culture, migration and the history of colonialism meet was a decisive factor in this collaboration.
She is interested in the question: How can gardens be reinterpreted as cultural artifacts, something that goes beyond the physical transformation of landscapes and stimulates critical reflections on power, knowledge and cultural identity in contemporary art?
