Zineb Sbaï El Idrissi
Zineb Sbai El Idrissi is a Ph.D. candidate at Ibn Tofail University, cultural mediator and translator at Le Cube – independent art room, and cofounder of Alkhariqun publishing house.
Born in 1994, she works and lives in Rabat/Salé.
After her MA graduation, specialized in Art and Media in 2017, Zineb Sbai El Idrissi started her career as a cultural operator with Le Cube – independent art room, in Rabat.
There, she occupies the position of translator and artist mediator, and works with Elisabeth Piskernik and Gabrielle Camuset on the organization of artistic projects at Le Cube.
In the same year, she becomes a Ph.D. candidate, under the supervision of novelist and academic, Youssouf Amine Elalamy, at Ibn Tofail University. She decides to research the dynamics that govern the art field in contemporary Morocco.
Driven by a passion for comic art, in 2019, she joins artist, Nassim Majdouline, in the founding of Alkhariqun Publishing House.
Zineb Sbai El Idrissi believes in the new cultural dynamics taking place these last years in Morocco.
As a cultural operator, she strives to help in the democratization of art and culture that benefits human resources development of the country, at the forefront. Working hand in hand with other institutions and cultural activists, her activity is centered around the accompaniment and promotion of engaged art that questions meta-narratives, gives voice to unheard reflections and experiences, and informs the public.
