During this even, the collective DEUX bis presents the ongoing project, Déplacer l’horizon (Moving the Horizon), through the screening of photographic and video works of Driss Aroussi, Nassim Arzarzar, Fleur Descaillot, Marko Lampisuo, Mohammed Laouli, Marjo Levlin, Sari Palosaari, Pauliina Salminen and Fatimazohra Serri.
Moving the Horizon is a collaborative project between three cities (Helsinki, Marseille, Rabat), three organizations (DEUX bis, Le Cube – independent art room, MUU Gallery) and nine artists (Driss Aroussi, Nassim Arzarzar, Fleur Descaillot, Marko Lampisuo, Mohammed Laouli, Marjo Levlin, Sari Palosaari, Pauliina Salminen, Fatimazohra Serri). The latter are invited to work together on the same subject “Moving the Horizon”.
Thus, each in her and his way, the artists subjectively observe the landscape, the desire of an elsewhere and the passing to the other side.
To talk about the horizon is to speak of material, mental and social landscapes, all while questioning that which is kept in balance. To seek the horizon, to move it.
During several months, events, exhibitions and meetings are organized in Marseille, Rabat and Helsinki.
The polysemous thematic imprints professional exchanges. What vision do artists have of the future in different countries?
What do we mean by north-south axis? Could it be displaced or diverted?
What is the role of international mobility?
How to suggest a parallel avenue to show artworks? What interest and impact could it make? How are numeric works diffused and how do they circulate?
Moving the Horizon is a project initiated by the collectif DEUX bis (Pauliina Salminen, Driss Aroussi and Fleur Descaillot).
