The 18th edition of the PROYECTOR Festival arrives this September, bringing moving images to life across Madrid.

From September 10 to 21, 2025, more than 20 venues throughout the city will host nearly 100 works of experimental video art, expanded cinema, performances, interactive installations, and site-specific projects—many of which will be world premieres. Known for its commitment to non-cinema-normative formats, PROYECTOR offers immersive works that actively engage the viewer.

As part of this edition, Elisabeth Piskernik (Le Cube – independent art room) will take part in a roundtable discussion alongside Veronika Liebl (ARS ELECTRONICA) and Dorien (DVD PROJECT + Festival BUT), and will present her curatorial proposal displaced realities, featuring artists Alina d’Alva Duchrow, Maria Hanl, Yasmine El Meleegy, and Mi Jung Shin on September 19.

On September 20, the film Les Dissidentes by Fatima Bianchi—produced by Careof and La Société du Sensible, in partnership with Le Cube and with the support of the Italian Council (11th edition, 2022)—will be screened as part of the festival, following its selection by an international jury. The film sheds light on issues surrounding motherhood, often silenced or rendered taboo by contemporary society, where women face constant pressure.

Committed to equality, accessibility, and the internationalization of culture, more than half of the selected works are by women artists from over 30 countries.

PROYECTOR collaborates with both independent spaces and major institutions, including venues within the OFF circuit, as well as international festivals such as Loops.Expanded, FIVA, PLAY, and Fonlad. This year, the Festival welcomes 10 new venues and, for the first time, opens the doors of artists’ studios to the public.

All events are free and accessible online via YouTube and Vimeo. The Festival also partners with universities to train and integrate new generations into the cultural sector.
