Lecture Performance | 29 September, 6pm I Le Cube
As part of the parallel program of the exhibition SECOND INTENTION – The Economy of Illusion at Le 18, Marrakesh, a collaboration project between CERAPROJECT, Le 18 and Le Cube – independent art room, artist Ziad Naitaddi and Portuguese curator Inês Valle present the performative lecture Where Figs Ripen and Sand Sifts.
Through storytelling, they interlace personal memories with imagined futures, navigating the emotional landscapes of lives lived between lands.
The talk explores themes of expectation, challenge, dream, and loss—mapping the fragile terrain of belonging and displacement.
It also offers a deeper look into Ziad Naitaddi’s artistic practice, including his solo exhibition Second Intention: The economy of illusion, drawing connections between his lived experiences and his creative process. This participatory performance invites the audience into their unfolding dialogue: to listen, question, and reflect.

Fouad Is Not A Criminal: HOME is a talk with Moroccan artist Ziad Naitaddi and Fouad Beniouri, the central figure and narrator of his photography project.
Beyond his role as an informal film distributor, Fouad has been a vital mentor to Ziad, opening access to global cinematic experiences, filling gaps in cultural infrastructure, and forging a vibrant parallel film culture.

The evening will conclude with an exclusive screening of films from Fouad’s personal archive, celebrating his pivotal role in the artist’s artistic awakening and visual education.
