Soukaina Joual is currently in residency at Le Cube – independent art room, as part of the program new generation.
This time spent in production is an opportunity for the artist to deepen her visual and formal research. Strongly inspired by the world of butcher shops, Soukaina Joual uses the objects and materials in slaughterhouses to convey the semantics of her work.
As she points out, the recent massacres in the Arab world aim at creating chaos. This violence is one of the stalls on which crudity and obscenity are established, and it is all of these problematics that the artist aspires to embrace in her new project.
The works developed by Soukaina Joual during her residency are presented in a solo exhibition at Le Cube – independent art room.
