Bouchra Salih

Born in 1974, lives and works in Morocco.
Independent cultural operator and clothing designer.

In January 2017, she launched her clothing brand Le Rouge BS, a collection in limited production.

“At first, I write a poem. Then there is this question: how to translate verbs and words to make clothes and accessories poetic and meaningful? It is a language through the choice of materials: fluid, sometimes transparent fabrics, weaving, wax. It all depends on the collection with simple cuts that bring softness to life and freedom of movement. In my work, there is sometimes this need to write directly on the fabric either through collaboration with embroiderers or myself in beading: Overall, there is a desire to create timeless clothes from a passion for words.”

Bouchra Salih, an independent cultural operator, defines herself as a cultural activist, after an extremely active life for 18 years in the Moroccan cultural landscape.
In 2018, she created “État d’Urgence d’Instants Poétiques” (EUIP), an event that takes place at the Jardin d’Essais Botaniques in Rabat.

She is an expert in the development and management of cultural and artistic projects in Morocco and its territorial and social challenges, and also acts as a consultant and trainer in cultural professions.
