Chloé Despax
Born in 1984 in Toulouse (France). She lives and works in Brussels.
Chloé Despax is radio scheduler, presenter and producer since more than 12 years, in Radio Grenouille in Marseille then in Radio Panik and Campus in Brussels. She often collaborates providing musical content to radio such as Tokyo Fm (Japan), Radio Espéranzah and 48Fm (Belgium), Le Mellotron (France),…
Member of the Atelier de Création Sonore Radiophonique in Brussels, she was trained there and has produced documentaries, fictions and field recordings. Her interest for the voice and the language feeds from her work as cultural mediator in the Fine Arts Museum of Belgium and her engagement in the social field.
Her sound creations, in the form of installations or collective listenings, is broadcasted at dOCUMENTA 14, at the Marrakech Biennale, at the Cinema Festival of Douarnenez, at the Festival Longueurs d’ondes in Brest, at Visa for the Image in Perpignan, on the website Rue89 (3rd price at the Arte Radio contest 2015) and at various public and associative radios.
Chloé is a part of Radio Moniek, a collective of radio cabaret, and of Fractales Frangynes Radio, a collective of radio performance.
Parallel to her radio works, she’s also DJ, make dancing people to africans, west indians and arabic rhythms in Brussels, Paris, Nantes, Liège, Avers, Marseille, Barcelona…
