Katrin Ströbel
Katrin Strobel’s work is essentially centered around drawing, combined with videos, photography and installations.
The German artist conceives her drawing as an open medium; a medium that is always in search for links, connections with painting and writing, video and music, space and movement. Her works reflect urban, historical, or socio-political conditions of the environments to which they belong.
From the observation of daily situations, concrete urban scenes or social structures, her drawings, videos and installations – especially those made as part of long-term work in a variety of contexts – often reflect cultural, gender, social and geo-political issues.
Born 1975 in Pforzheim in Germany, Katrin Ströbel lives and works in Marseille, Stuttgart and Rabat.
Since 2013, she is a professor at Villa Arson, National School of Art in Nice.
