Ouazzani Carrier
Marie Ouazzani and Nicolas Carrier have been living and working together since 2015.
The images, installations, and infusions created by the duo Ouazzani Carrier compose new relationships and balances between the different elements of our ecosystems. Inspired by the names of plants, meteorological phenomena, and diseases, their works form cycles that evolve between disappearance and regeneration. They reveal the importance of disturbances in shaping our emotions and, through contemplative moments, propose ways to rise again after a collapse.
Ouazzani Carrier have exhibited in international biennials and institutions including By Art Matters Museum, Hangzhou; Kunst-Station Sankt Peter, Cologne; La Kunsthalle, Mulhouse; Villa Medici, Rome; La Galerie CAC, Noisy-le-Sec; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Villa Schöningen, Potsdam; Casa da Cerca, Almada; the 19th Media Art Biennale WRO, Wrocław; the 2nd Lagos Biennial; HKW, Berlin; Villa Arson, Nice; 3 bis f, Aix-en-Provence; the 5th Odessa Biennale; and Darat al Funun, Amman.
The duo received the Art Éco-Conception Prize from Art of Change 21 at the Palais de Tokyo.
Their work is held in the collections of By Art Matters Museum, FRAC Grand Large, FMAC Vénissieux, FMAC Aubervilliers, and the Departmental Collection of Contemporary Art of Seine-Saint-Denis.
